FAQs
Are your guides certified marine biologists and dolphin experts?
Yes! Our team includes certified marine biologists and conservationists from the University College of Cork, who specialize in dolphin research and marine ecology. Nina and Timmy are passionate about ocean conservation and ensuring that every tour contributes to scientific knowledge and marine protection.
Why is funding essential for marine conservation efforts?
Protecting marine life involves extensive field research, data collection, and conservation projects. Funding helps us monitor dolphin populations, study their behaviors, and advocate for marine protection policies. By joining our tour, you’re directly supporting ongoing research and sustainability initiatives that help safeguard Malta’s marine ecosystem.
What type of dolphin research and marine studies do you conduct?
We conduct photo identification studies, tracking individual dolphins based on their unique markings. We also collect environmental data on water quality, temperature, and marine biodiversity. Our research contributes to local and international marine conservation efforts, helping to protect dolphins and their habitat for future generations.
Will I definitely see dolphins?
While we explore areas with a high likelihood of dolphin sightings, we cannot guarantee encounters as these are wild animals in their natural habitat. Our tours are 100% ethical, meaning we never use baiting or interference to attract dolphins, ensuring a natural and responsible wildlife experience.
Is the tour safe for kids?
Yes, children are welcome on our dolphin tours! However, as we venture into open waters, the ride can sometimes get bumpy due to waves and sea conditions. For this reason, we do not recommend the tour for children under 4 years old. Safety is our top priority, so we advise parents to consider their child’s comfort with boat rides before booking.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority, and our tours are always subject to favorable sea and weather conditions. If the weather is unsafe—such as strong winds, rough seas, or poor visibility—we may need to reschedule your tour or offer a full refund. We closely monitor forecasts and will notify you as early as possible in case of any changes. If your schedule is flexible, we’ll do our best to find an alternative date that works for you so you don’t miss out on this incredible experience!
